Winter offers the photographer more than white landscapes. Whether it is cloudy outside, sunny, cloudy or fog – any type of weather has its own charm. So, you don’t need to put your photo equipment on naphthalene in the winter months.

On the contrary, especially those who enjoy working with details and macro lenses have the opportunity to discover more ways than expected. In addition, it is perfectly possible to get some good shots in the comfort of their home.

Find a suitable subject

Those who prefer a somewhat warmer place because of discomfort caused by cold weather, can play executing shots on the table, without encountering any problems. For that, you need only a free table and a suitable light source. You may bring inside branches and cones, possibly combined with other elements to make some “still life” and interesting arrangements.

If you are lucky to live in an area rich in vegetation,you don’t even need to make a trip for that. Otherwise, walk up to a florist, it would be able to offer what you want, without considerable effort.

In fact, winter is an ideal season for photographs taken in late afternoons, at twilight or in counter-light. Thanks to early sunset and later sunrise, you do not even have to go to bed later or waking up early to photograph. In the morning, fog effects will provide great opportunity for you to play with diffused light of the sun.
